Alcaraz wins the Roland Garros title

Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz won the French Open tennis championship "Roland Garros" for the first time in his career after defeating German Alexander Zverev in the final in five sets, 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2.

Alcaraz increased his record in the four major tournaments to three titles, as he previously won the US Open in 2022, and Wimbledon last year. The world number three, who is 23 years old, became the youngest player to win titles on all types of surfaces in the Grand Slam courts.

Winning the French Open will allow him to rise to second place in the world at the expense of Serbian Novak Djokovic, the defending champion who withdrew from the quarter-finals due to injury, in the world rankings.
