Baker released from bankruptcy case

The lawyer of former German tennis player Boris Becker announced that he will be exempt from bankruptcy in Britain after reaching a settlement with some of his creditors.

Becker (56 years old), who won six major titles in his career, was declared bankrupt in 2017, with total debts amounting to about 50 million pounds sterling.

Becker, who won his first Wimbledon final in 1985, when he was 17, was found guilty of concealing assets worth hundreds of thousands of pounds after a trial in London.

Baker was imprisoned for two and a half years in 2022 and was deported from Britain later that year, banned from returning until June 2025.

But Baker filed a request to lift the suspension, which his lawyer said was granted by the judge last Tuesday.
