Real Madrid player suspended

UEFA has handed England star Jude Bellingham a one-match suspended ban after an investigation into an apparent foul gesture he made towards Slovakia's bench in the round of 16 of the European Championship.

Jude Bellingham will be available for England's quarter-final against Switzerland in Dusseldorf. He has also been fined €30,000, while the FA has been fined €11,000 for setting off fireworks and crowd disturbances during the Slovakia game.

UEFA issued a statement saying Bellingham would be investigated “in relation to a possible breach of the basic rules of improper conduct.” UEFA had previously indicated that Bellingham was not expected to face any sanctions.
