The Paris prosecutor's office announced the arrest of a French coach for the canoeing and kayaking competitions during the Paris 2024 Olympics, after he was accused of urinating in the street and assaulting a police officer.
Reports indicated that the incident took place in the early hours of Tuesday morning, when police intervened to stop coach Guillaume Berg for inappropriate behavior, but the matter developed into a quarrel that resulted in his arrest.
The French Canoe and Kayak Federation confirmed that Berge had been suspended with immediate effect, noting that he was not supervising any French team during the Olympics, but was helping to organize public competitions at the site designated for the rowing competitions.
