Former world number one Angelique Kerber enters her favourite grasscourt tennis season with no specific goals in her first year back from maternity leave.
The 2018 Wimbledon champion explained that it took her several months to regain her rhythm, adding that she trained on carpets and twice trained on grass in Berlin.
The Berlin Open, which is played between the French Open and Wimbledon, is an opportunity for Angelique Kerber, as eight of the top 10 players in the tournament are in the tournament.
World No. 1 Iga Swiatek of Poland will not be taking part in the tournament in Germany, as she has taken a break after winning the French Open.
Angelique Kerber also said that after the end of Wimbledon, she expects to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, thanks to her ranking position.
