Britain's Henry Button and Finland's Harri Heliovaara won the Wimbledon Championship, the third of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments, in the men's doubles competition, after defeating Australia's Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson 6-7 (7/9), 7-6 (10/8), 7-6 (11/9).
Patten, 28, became the third Briton to win the title, after Jonathan Marray in 2012 and Niall Skupski in 2023, while Heliovaara became the first Finn to hold the title.
The unseeded duo needed two hours and 49 minutes to win the tough match, after falling behind in the first set with a tie-break, and needing two tie-breaks in the second and third sets.
The 35-year-old Finn had stopped playing tennis 11 years ago due to injury and returned to the game in 2017.
