Bayern Munich extends contract of defender Stancic

German football club Bayern Munich announced the extension of the contract of its Croatian defender, Josip Stanisic, until June 2029.

Stancic spent last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, where he won the league and cup double with the team.

Stancic joined Bayern Munich's U17 team from Fürstenfeldbruck in January 2017, then made it to the first team and has made 41 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal so far. He has also won the Bundesliga title three times with the Bavarian team and won the third division title with Bayern's reserve team in 2020.

Stancic participated with the Croatian national team in the 2024 European Nations Cup currently being held in Germany, but his team was eliminated from the group stage.
