The Panama national team announced its new logo and joined other countries that wish to change their logo according to the transition to the simplified cartoon logo.
The new logo for the Panama national team is a pictorial drawing of the “Harpy” eagle, the symbol of the state and people of Panama, behind which appear 10 outstretched wings representing the various provinces of Panama. As for the quad feathers on the eagle’s head, they symbolize the four stages of the logo’s development, while the golden details are inspired by the Church of San Jose.
The most notable modification was the removal of the abbreviation for the name of the Panama Football Federation, “FEPAFUT,” and replacing it with the country’s name, “PANAMÁ,” with an emphasis on the letter “Á,” which is written in the main language of Panama. According to a statement by the Panama Football Federation, it will be used starting from the 2024 Copa America tournament.
