John O'Shea is interim Ireland coach

Former Manchester United defender John O'Shea has become the new coach of his country, Ireland, but on a temporary basis for two friendly matches scheduled for next March, the Football Association announced.
O'Shea (42 years old), who served as assistant to former coach Stephen Kenny, will supervise the national team during the friendly matches between Belgium and Switzerland next month.
Ireland has been searching for a new coach since Kenny was dismissed last November after failing to qualify for the European Cup finals scheduled for next summer in Germany.
Lee Carsley, who coaches the England under-21 national team, former Wales coach Chris Coleman, and former Ireland captain Roy Keane, are among the most prominent candidates to take over the technical helm of the national team in the next stage.
