Greenwood leaves Manchester United

English club Manchester United has officially announced the departure of its young player Mason Greenwood, who spent last season on loan at Spanish club Getafe. The club's statement said that Greenwood will move to French club Olympique de Marseille.

For his part, Marseille club published a video announcing the signing of Greenwood, 22 years old, after negotiations that lasted for several weeks. The English winger appeared in the video wearing the number 10 shirt after signing his contract to transfer to the French club.

Some close sources reported that the deal cost Marseille 26 million euros, in addition to additional incentives worth 5 million euros that will be paid to Manchester United, who will also receive 50% of the value of any future sale of Greenwood.

Mason Greenwood is a product of United's academy but was suspended for a year and a half for his alleged involvement in a sexual assault on a girl.
