He refused Russia's return to Olympia

The Court of Arbitration for Sport rejected Russia's appeal against the suspension imposed on it by the International Olympic Committee since October 2023 after Moscow recognized regional Olympic centers in Ukrainian regions occupied by it. Under the suspension, the Russian Olympic Committee will be deprived of any funding from the International Committee and will not be linked to the Olympic movement, but Russian athletes will be able to participate in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
