Reeves sets new Olympic record, wins weightlifting gold

American Olivia Reeves achieved a remarkable achievement by winning the gold medal in the women's 71kg weightlifting competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Reeves did not just win, but also set a new Olympic record in the snatch with a lift of 171kg, followed by a clean and jerk lift of 145kg, bringing her total lift to 262kg, which gave her a well-deserved first place.

In second place came Colombian Mary Levis, who won the silver medal after lifting 257 kg, while Ecuadorian Angie Paula Palacios won the bronze medal with a total lift of 256 kg.
