German Alexander Zverev, ranked fifth in the world, was crowned champion of the 1000-point Rome Tennis Masters Tournament for the second time, defeating Chilean Nicolas Jarry (6-4, 7-5) in the final match.
Zverev played the first final of a Masters tournament since the spring of 2022, when he lost to Spaniard Carlos Alcarras in Madrid. He had previously won the Italian tournament title in 2017, before losing the final of the following year to Spanish matador Rafael Nadal. With this victory, the German raised his tally of titles in the Masters Tournaments, the most important competitions after the four major tournaments of the game, to six titles, and in his professional career to 22 titles.
