Sindhu expresses sadness after exiting the qualifiers

India's Pusarla Venkata Sindhu, a favourite to win gold in badminton at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, expressed her sadness after her elimination from the qualifiers, describing the loss as one of the toughest moments of her career.

Sindhu, who won silver at Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and bronze at Tokyo 2020, said the journey to the Paris Games was full of challenges, including two years of injuries that kept her out of the game for long periods. Despite these difficulties, she expressed her gratitude to represent her country at her third Olympics.

As for her future, Sindhu explained that she will continue competing after taking a short break that she needs physically and mentally, noting that she plans to carefully evaluate her next journey and enjoy practicing the sport that she loves.
