Anderlecht defender Jan Vertonghen, 37, has announced his retirement from international football after a glittering career spanning more than 14 years with his country.
Vertonghen made a record 157 appearances for Belgium, scoring 9 goals, and was part of the team's golden generation that finished third at the 2018 World Cup and second at Euro 2020.
Vertonghen tweeted: "It's time to say goodbye to the national team. It's been a wonderful journey full of great moments that I will never forget. I thank all my teammates, the coaching staff and the fans for supporting my career."
Vertonghen is considered one of the best defenders in the history of Belgium, and played for Dutch club Atax Amsterdam and English club Tottenham Hotspur, before moving to Belgian club Anderlecht in 2022.
