Kabang Mobobo from the track to the green rectangle

Zambian Kabang Mupopo has achieved an unprecedented feat in Olympic history, becoming the first athlete in the world to compete in two different sports in two consecutive Olympic Games.

Mopopo began her Olympic career in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, where she represented her country in the 400m, a distance in which she won the African Championship title. Now, Mopopo is competing with the Zambian women’s football team at the Paris 2024 Olympics, becoming the first Zambian to compete in two different sports in the history of the Olympic Games.

Before entering the Olympics, Mobobo completed her move to the Chinese Super League after signing with Wuhan Jiangda. The former captain of Zambian club Copper Queens has signed a one-year contract with Wuhan.
