American Christian Coleman thwarted the hopes of his compatriot Noah Lyles in the World Indoor Athletics Championships, after he outperformed him in the 60m race in Glasgow.
Coleman led the race from the start to the finish line, recording 6.41 seconds, the fastest time this year.
This is the second indoor World Cup gold medal for the world record holder, after the first in Birmingham 2018.
Regarding the secret of his success, Coleman (27 years old), who is preparing to compete in the Paris Olympics next summer, after missing the Tokyo Olympics due to a suspension due to doping issues, said, “I feel excited to be at my peak and have my future ahead of me.”
This is Coleman's first victory under the colors of the United States since the 100m race at the 2019 World Cup, after which he was suspended for 18 months due to his absence from doping tests.
