Mattsen in Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund announced the final agreement regarding the transfer of defender Ian Maatsen on loan from Chelsea to its ranks. He is the second player from the English Premier League to transfer this month after Jadon Sancho returned from Manchester United to the Bundesliga.
The 21-year-old left-back had signed a new contract at Stamford Bridge until 2026, before moving to Dortmund. Mattsen joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in 2018.
Before moving to Dortmund, the Dutch star was loaned to Burnley last season, where he helped them rise to the Premier League. Vincent Kompany’s team made an offer worth 31.5 million pounds to keep him in the summer, but he refused the transfer.
