Neuer is the goalkeeper with the most appearances in the history of the Euro

Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has set the record for the most appearances in a European Championship match, having played against Switzerland in the third round of Euro 2024.

Neuer participated in 18 matches in 4 editions of the European Championship, including 5 matches in "Euro 2012", 6 matches in "Euro 2016", 4 matches in "Euro 2020" and 3 matches in "Euro 2024".

Neuer, 38, broke his partnership with Italian goalkeeping legend Gianluigi Buffon, who played 17 matches in the Euros with the Azzurri.

With Neuer's participation in the matches of the seventeenth edition of the tournament, he succeeded in surpassing the French Hugo Lloris (15), then the Portuguese Rui Patricio and the Dutch Edwin van der Sar (16), and finally Gianluigi Buffon (17).
