Julen Lopetegui at West Ham United

English club West Ham United announced that it has reached a final agreement with Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui Arguti to coach it next season.

West Ham coach David Moyes announced that he would leave his position at the end of the current season, in light of the failure to reach an agreement to extend his contract.

Lopetegui (57 years old) is distinguished by the great experience he gained after coaching Porto, the Spanish national team, Real Madrid and Seville. He also worked in the English Premier League for a period when he supervised Wolverhampton Wanderers before his departure in August 2023.

West Ham ranked ninth in the league last season, after winning once in the last six rounds, and concluded the season with a 3-1 loss to Manchester City, who won the title thanks to this result.
