Lebanese Football Association postpones its tournaments

The Lebanese Football Association announced the postponement of all its championship matches for the current season 2024-2025 until further notice, due to the recent security tensions witnessed in the country as a result of the Israeli raids.

In a statement issued by the Federation, it said: “Due to the current situation in the country, the Executive Committee of the Lebanese Football Federation has decided to postpone matches in all tournaments to a date to be determined later.” This step comes within the framework of ensuring the safety of players, fans and all parties concerned with football competitions in Lebanon.

The decision came after an Israeli airstrike targeted the Nabi Sheth Sports Stadium in the Bekaa Valley, one of the main stadiums hosting Lebanese Premier League matches. The postponement of the matches is a precautionary step until the security situation in the country improves, and new dates for the matches will be determined based on developments.
