Defending World Motorcycle Championship champion Francisco Bagnaia won the Spanish Grand Prix for the third time in a row, narrowing the gap separating him from Jorge Martin in the overall championship standings, after Pramac Racing rider Martin suffered an accident and was forced out of the race while he was in the lead.
Six-time world champion Marc Marquez won second place for the Gresini Racing team at the Jerez circuit, followed by Marco Pizzicchi of the VR46 Racing team in third place.
Martin maintained his position at the top of the overall standings of racers in the World Championship.
Spaniard Martin has 92 points after four rounds of the championship, and is 17 points ahead of second-placed Bagnaia, who in turn is ahead of his Ducati teammate, Enea Bastianini, by five points.
