Bob Bell left his position as a consultant at Alpine, a competitor in the Formula One World Championship, to join Aston Martin as Executive Technical Director. Thus, Bell (65 years old) will collaborate again with Fernando Alonso, who won the championship with Renault twice in 2005 and 2006 when Bell was technical director of the team. The Spanish driver joined Aston Martin from Alpine, which is owned by Renault, last season. It is learned that Bill will assume a senior leadership role, as he will be generally responsible for the technical, engineering and performance aspects, reporting directly to team president Mike Crack. Alpine began the season in Bahrain, where its two cars started from the back row, and Esteban Ocon finished in 17th place, ahead of his teammate Pierre Gasly, who came in 18th. The team fell from fourth place in the overall standings in 2022 to sixth last season and is currently at the bottom of the standings.
